“The entire amount of the donation received will be passed to students in the form of toolsets. Students apply to receive a professional toolset which helps them as they start their career,” said 约翰·埃切尔伯格, Interim Department Chair for the Automotive Technology Program.

来自职业学校的汽车专业学生，如圣. 菲利普的大学, work alongside these experienced professionals to learn job-related skills 和 gain h和s-on experience as they assist with repairs. Students from both Automotive Technology 和 Diesel Technology volunteer at the event each year.

“The students gain the skills 和 knowledge of working on a shop floor alongside professional technicians. They also see the value of giving back to the community through this service-learning opportunity 和 network with employers while assisting in repairs,” said Diesel Technology Program Coordinator, 费尔南德斯不.

柴油技术项目在St. 菲利普的大学 is designed to provide students with the necessary skill set to pursue a career in today's highly technical 和 competitive field of diesel technology. Courses in the program include Heavy Duty Brake Systems, 柴油发动机, 及发动机性能, 预防性维护, 基本液压, 电, 以及更高级的柴油技术课程. There are currently over 100 students enrolled in Diesel Technology.

SPC’s Automotive Technology Program is nationally certified in eight content areas 和 maintains ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) Master Certification status -- the highest level of achievement. The program curriculum prepares students with technician training enriched in current technology 和 fundamental h和s-on skills for individuals seeking an entry-level position or advanced position in the automotive career field. There are currently over 200 students enrolled in Automotive Technology.

圣. 菲利普的大学 Diesel Technology 和 Automotive Technology programs have been in partnership with the 汽车专业人士协会 since their inception in 2015. Together they educate 和 train the next generation of industry professionals, 帮助获得认证的技术人员找到工作, 和 provide students the opportunity to build relationships with local 和 national automotive industry professionals.
