Gunn Automotive Group awards 20k in tools to automotive students

四圣. Philip’s 大学 automotive students are recipients of the Gunn Automotive Group Tools Scholarship. During a ceremony held on 2022年5月20日, 奥斯卡Bernache, 正义穆尼奥斯, 阿里尔索托, Sebastian Velasco each received a tool chest containing $5,000 in Sonic professional-grade tools. The eight-drawer chest includes a 29-piece wrench set, 139套插座, 螺丝刀集, 钳, 和凿子. Awardees were selected based on community service, financial need and, classroom and lab performance. 

“Tools are one of the prohibiting factors for entry-level automotive technicians. This award will ensure these four students overcome that obstacle,” said Vice President for Academic Success Randall Dawson.

Gunn Automotive Group has been a continuous partner to the St. Philip’s 大学 automotive program. Since partnering in 2009, over 100 students have received the Tools Scholarship. Gunn Automotive Group Director of Training Tony Ciaravino, who has worked with the company for 35 years, 出席典礼.

Philip’s 大学 Automotive Technology program provides automotive technician training enriched in current technology and fundamental hands-on skills for individuals seeking an entry-level position or advanced position in the automotive career field. The Automotive Technology Program at St. 菲利普的大学 is nationally certified in eight content areas and maintains ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) Master Certification status. The program is accredited by the ASE Education Foundation.
